Hi all. I noticed that Jen decided to put up an "Andy page" so I thought I'd contribute a little.
Okay, so what should I talk about? Oh, I know, I'll tell
you a little bit about myself. As most people already know, my
name is Andy Lam and I'm currently a sophmore in the College of
Engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. As of
right now, I plan to major in Computer Engineering and minor
in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering. Hopefully, in
4 to 20 years, I'll graduate and leave this Hell-hole. Actually,
I really don't mind living here but the work load is horrendous.
You WILL NOT believe how much crap I have to do every nite. I
think I would like college life a lot more if I didn't have to
spend 10+ hours a day studying and cramming. 
Contrary to popular belief, although I like to rag on my 
Spartan friends, I actually don't bear any grudges against them
for simply for attending MSU. Actually, my sister attended MSU
for a while. I *STILL* think that Jenni would do much better
here in Ann Arbor though and I think she'd really like it here.
Okay, this is where I tell you all about my checkered past.
I was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan and attended the Rockford
Public schools from K-12th grade. Last year, I managed to
graduate with honors and find my way to Ann Arbor (I think that
$50 I slipped them helped). Originally, I was to attend the
University of Illionis in Urbana-Champaign. However, at the last
possible moment (3 weeks before classes started) I was accepted
by Umich. After much consideration, I gave up 16 foreign
language credits, 8 English credits, 4 Math credits, and $4,000
to attend U of M (get this, tuition at U of I is cheaper--even
though I'd be an out-of-state student!!!!!). Why?
Well, Umich *had* a better CE program than U of I, I'd be closer
to home, I'd be closer to my sweetie (only 1 hour away vs. 13 1/2 hours 
if I went to Illinois), and my friend Matt was here. Unfortunately
for him we're roommates now so I get to make his life Hell 24
hours a day.
What are some of my hobbies and interests? Well, I like to
read (Tom Clancy and David Eddings), tinker with computers, chat
on IRC, and harass my friends. I also like camping, biking,
jogging, and roller blading. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that
I spent a couple years as a Boy Scout (go fig--I think I'm the
perfect example of the anti-scout), and a couple years taking
Tae Kwon Do (getting the crap kicked outta you is a great way to
get in shape). Well, that's it for me. It's kinda sorta late
so I think I'll go to bed now. Oh yeah, I almost forgot--here's
my senior picture. Oh yeah, before you look at it, cover one eye
so you won't go completely blind.
